Background Information

The William R. Ridgeway Family Relations Courthouse (WRRFRC) is the newest addition to the Sacramento Superior Court. Built in 1999, this modern facility houses those divisions within the Court handling family-related matters, such as Dissolutions, Probate matters, and Juvenile Dependency cases.

Also located within the WRRFRC are the offices of the Sheriff's Civil Division, the Self-Help Center, the Office of Family Court Services, and the Family Law Facilitator's Office.

The following services are available in or near the William R. Ridgeway Family Relations Courthouse:

  • Copy Machines - Available in Rooms 101, 113, 214, and 316; $0.25 per page. Copy cards can be purchased at the dispensers located in Room 100. The dispensers accept only $1.00 bills. The cards come pre-loaded with $0.50, but customers can reload them for $0.25 per copy at the copiers (not the dispensers), up to a limit of $25.00. The money box at the copier accepts nickels, dimes, quarters, $1.00 and $5.00 bills.
  • Vending Machines - Vending machines and a snack area are located on the first floor.
  • Public Telephones - Located on the first floor.
  • Children's Waiting Room - A Children's Waiting Room is located in Room 111 on the first floor.

From the Bay Area and points west

  • Take the Interstate 80 freeway to Highway 50 eastbound (toward Lake Tahoe). Exit at the Howe Avenue/Power Inn Road exit. Turn right onto southbound Power Inn Road. Turn left at the Ramona Road stoplight. Parking is available at the rear of the building.

From North Sacramento and points north

  • Take Interstate 80 to Interstate 5 south. At the interchange with Highway 50, take Highway 50 eastbound (toward Lake Tahoe). Exit at Howe Avenue/Power Inn Road. Turn right onto southbound Power Inn Road. Turn left at the Ramona Road stoplight. Parking is available at the rear of the building or

From Rancho Cordova, Folsom, and points east

Parking Information

Public parking is available behind the courthouse at a cost of $2.00 for the first hour and $1.00 per hour for additional hours or any portion thereof with an 8-hour maximum. There is no charge if you are in the lot for 10 minutes or less.

Both elevators and stairs are available upon leaving the parking lot to walk to the courthouse. Customers may be dropped off at the entrance to the building, in the drop-off area denoted with white stripes. Handicap parking is available directly in front of the building and there are also handicap parking spaces in the public lot near the elevators.
