PUBLIC NOTICE
For hearings scheduled after 09/01/2023, parties wishing to appear remotely for evidentiary hearings must apply to the court for a remote appearance. An evidentiary hearing is where parties and witnesses may testify, like a trial. For non-evidentiary hearings, parties may appear remotely with notice to the court. Any party wishing to appear remotely must serve all other parties and comply with Code of Civil Procedure 367.75 - external link and the court retains discretion to require in person appearances for all types of hearings.
Small Claims Process to Request Remote Appearance
Effective June 1, 2022, the clerk’s office will be open to the public. However, due to the continuing backlog, a cursory review of all documents will be conducted on-site, but documents will not be processed immediatley unless they are urgent requests. Parties will submit their documents after review and will receive copies of filings via U.S. Mail or email after processed and filed.

Night Court
Night Court services at the Carol Miller Justice Center (CMJC) are provided remotely on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 4:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. If the 2nd Wednesday of the month is a court holiday, Night Court will occur on the 2nd Thursday of that same month. Services provided include: video hearings and Mediation and Advisory Clinic Workshop utilizing Zoom, a video conferencing application.
Please note: Interpreter services are not currently available during the Night Court hours.

- Public Kiosks are located on the second floor of the Carol Miller Justice Center in the Small Claims/Unlawful Detainer Department. Kiosks are available for case research only. E-filing kiosks are not available at the moment.
