The Sacramento Superior Court will begin transitioning operations to the new Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye Sacramento Superior Courthouse, located at 500 G Street in the Sacramento Railyards, through a phased move occurring over five consecutive weekends.

The new 18-story, 538,000-square-foot facility will replace operations currently housed in the Gordon D. Schaber Courthouse and the Hall of Justice.

Phased Move Schedule

Court operations will become active at the new courthouse according to the following timeline:

  • March 30 & April 6 – Administration operational at new location
  • April 13 – Civil courtrooms and civil operations open to the public
  • April 20 – Criminal trial courtrooms and Master Calendar transition
  • April 27 – Criminal high-volume departments relocate; courthouse fully operational

The phased approach is designed to ensure continuity of services while minimizing disruption to court users and the public.
