For hearings scheduled after 09/01/2023, parties wishing to appear remotely for evidentiary hearings must apply to the court for a remote appearance. An evidentiary hearing is where parties and witnesses may testify, like a trial. For non-evidentiary hearings, parties may appear remotely with notice to the court. Any party wishing to appear remotely must serve all other parties and comply with Code of Civil Procedure 367.75 - external link and the court retains discretion to require in person appearances for all types of hearings.
Effective June 1, 2022, the clerk’s office will be open to the public. However, due to the continuing backlog, a cursory review of all documents will be conducted on-site, but documents will not be processed immediatley unless they are urgent requests. Parties will submit their documents after review and will receive copies of filings via U.S. Mail or email after processed and filed.
