Public Notice - Small Claims and Unlawful Detainer Resumption of Public Access for Hearings Effective Monday, January 3, 2022


In accordance with the Presiding Judge’s Order the Sacramento Court’s Small Claims Division remains closed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

All Small Claims trials scheduled Jul 13, 2021 to July 31, 2021 were rescheduled to August. Notices were sent to all parties advising of the new date. Small Claims trials and mediations resumed as of August 3, 2021, and will be held via video conference (Zoom) only.

As of November 1, 2021, Carol Miller Justice Center began processing Small Claims Filings for unpaid COVID-19 rental debt that became due September 30, 2021.


  • Small Claims trials and mediations are being held via video conference (Zoom) only.
  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the courthouse is not open to accepting filings in person.
  • During the building closure, small claims filings can be submitted via the drop box located at the Carol Miller Justice Center or by mail to:
