Unlawful Detainer (landlord/tenant) cases requesting damages in the amount less then $25,000 are heard at the Carol Miller Justice Center, located at 301 Bicentennial Circle. Any Unlawful Detainer case which seeks more than $25,000 in damages (regardless of where the property is located in this county) must be filed with the Civil Division of the court, located in the Gordon D. Schaber Sacramento County Courthouse at 720 9th Street. Below is a list that will help you determine where to file your paperwork and appear for trial if the money damages are $25,000 or less.

The Carol Miller Justice Center is located at 301 Bicentennial Circle, Sacramento. Hours of operation are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information, you may contact the court by calling 916-875-7746. Phone hours are 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
All court facilities are closed on national holidays and weekends. There is, however, a drop box available at the Carol Miller Justice Center where paperwork may be deposited when the facility is closed. Any papers deposited in the drop box after 5:00 p.m. will be filed and processed on the next court business day.
